Answer Me 1997

Hey Everyone!

I finally finished another drama (probably the last for this year), it was called Answer Me 1997. It was a cute drama following the lives of 6 youths. The drama started with the present day reunion between the 6 friends. Each episode showed memories of the past, starting from their high school days in 1997. The main character was Sung Shi Won. SW was a major fan-girl for the popular band H.O.T. (in particular Tony). She had a best friend named Yoon Yoon Jae. The two knew each other since they were babies, but YJ started to fall for SW when they first started high school. SW was more naive when it came to her feelings, so she was always oblivious to his feelings. The two had 4 other friends, Mo Yoo Jung, Kang Joon Hee, Bang Sung Jae, and Do Hak Chan. The 6 were inseparable during their high school years. However, once they entered college, they all separated because they all went their own ways. The majority of the drama revolved around SW and YJ, and the development of their relationship (from being childhood friends, to possibly lovers). I actually really liked this drama because it showed the present and continued to show the past. It definitely left me hanging each time because though you would think the ending was predictable, there were times when I thought there my be a twist to the plot. I definitely give this drama a 5 out of 5 stars because it had all the elements that I look for in a drama. It kept me wanting to watch it till the end, and it had a great amount of comedy along with romance. It definitely fulfilled my drama watching experience. I would recommend this drama to anyone. It has been a while since I really liked a drama this much. Let me know what you all thought! That's it for now.

Innocent Man

Hey Everyone!

It has been a while! In fact, I have watched a few dramas in the past few months, but I just did not get a chance to post the summaries due to exams and what not. I am finally home for a... *drum roll please*... MONTH! I just finished Innocent Man yesterday. I had been waiting to watch this drama for a while because Song Joong Ki was in it (sooo cute!). The drama was mainly about Kang Ma Ru, a sweet guy with simple needs. He had great prospects to become a doctor, and even had a woman that he loved with all his heart (Han Jae Hee). However, all of that changed in an instant, when JH suddenly called MR because she killed a man! MR, being the hero that he is, went to save his damsel in distress by taking the blame for the murder. Due to that incident, he not only lost his chance at becoming a doctor, but also lost his woman to a chaebol. MR was ready to move on after finding out about JH's new husband and child, but she managed to continue to cause him grief. After several other instances, MR decided to get revenge on JH. His main target was JH's current step-daughter, Seo Eun Gi. EG was a serious girl, with only one goal; to take over her father's company. However, she somehow fell in love with MR. Eventually, EG gave up everything for MR, yet MR was still in love with JH at that time. The night that EG's father died, EG broke up with MR after finding out his real intentions towards her and had a car accident that involved MR. When she came to, she had lost all of her past memories, and could only remember MR. At that point, MR took it on himself to take care of her, and help her regain her rights to her deceased father's company. During the process, MR fell in love with EG, but EG had forgotten all about MR's original reason for approaching her. After many instances, EG regained all of her memories and left MR. The rest of the drama involved MR trying to help EG and take down JH at the same time. It was a very intense drama (more of a melodrama), but it was definitely interesting. I would give this drama at 4.5 out of 5 stars because it was different than the usual dramas I have seen lately. I really liked it. Let me know what your thoughts were. That's it for now.

Big

Hey Everyone!

So, it has not been too long since my last post, though I probably should not be completing any dramas as I am studying. Either ways, I finally watched a drama I have been waiting to watch a for while now, called Big. I really liked the drama overall, but the ending left me a bit disappointed. Regardless, it was a cute drama with my favorite actress, Lee Min Jung (so pretty!). It was a drama about a girl named Kil Da Ran that was engaged to marry a guy named Seo Yoon Jae. The two had met at a friend's wedding by coincidence, but due to unusual circumstances, suddenly the two were engaged. However, since YJ was a busy doctor, he did not have time for DR, and that was when she met Kang Kyung Joon. He was a lonely kid, that started school at the school that DR was starting to teach at. The two also met under unusual circumstances, however at that time DR was madly in love with YJ. Since things were not going well, DR got frustrated and wanted to know how YJ felt about her. So, after KJ took her to a random place, as YJ was driving to there and KJ was leaving, the two got into an accident, and YJ saved KJ from drowning. Somehow, when the two resurfaced and made it to the hospital, KJ had returned in YJ's body and KJ's body was in a coma. There was a lot of shocks, but eventually the two made peace with the fact. However, problems arose between the real YJ and DR because there were all sorts of bad rumours about him (i.e. having an affair). Initially, DR did not believe in it, but eventually was really hurt by it and began to assume YJ did not love her. During this confusing time, KJ fell for DR and kept following her around in YJ's body. He was initially rejected by DR because of his age and since she was still in love with YJ. At that point, KJ left with YJ's mother to study and become more of an adult (basically to impress DR). When KJ returned, even DR was impressed by his new and mature self. The two continued to spend time together, and eventually DR started to have feelings for KJ. The rest of the drama explained the twisted relationship between KJ and YJ, as well as the obstacles that DR and KJ had to go through before getting the chance to be together. Overall, the drama was great, and had lots of fun and sad moments, but unfortunately, the ending left me with a bitter taste. I felt the ending was a bit rushed, and there needed to be more prologue shown about what happened with YJ coming back to life and just how DR planned to be with KJ. Although the ending was not amazing, the rest of the drama did have lots of ups and downs, and I did enjoy watching it. So, I gave this drama a 4 out of 5 stars. That's it for now.

Love Rain

 Hey Everyone!

It has been a while since I last posted. A lot has happened since then! The biggest change in my life is that I got engaged to the love of my life on August 24th =). Of course, soon afterwards, I had to return to the island for school. Unfortunately, there was a lot chaos with flights due to Hurricane Isaac. However, after a long flight, I finally made it back, safe and sound. During my break and after I returned to the island, I decided to watch Love Rain. It was one of the better dramas that I have watched in the past few months. It had great actors for lead - Jang Geun Suk (You're Beautiful) and Im Yoon Ah (SNSD). The drama was about a love between two generations. Initially they showed Seo In Ha and Kim Yoon Hee, falling in love in the 70's. That love was not able to sprout because YH became ill and left the country. In the meantime, IH got married and had a child. Few decades later, their children, Seo Joon and Jung Ha Na met in Japan. The two met under unusual circumstances, but eventually Joon fell for HN. But things got complicated when they realized their parents liked each other and were rekindling their old flame. The two decided to break up, but could not stay away from each other or stay near each other and be siblings. The rest of the drama involved the struggle between both couples in trying to help the other. There was a lot of internal struggle shown in the drama. It was also nice to see Jang Geun Suk in a proper role and great to see Yoon Ah in another drama after a long hiatus. The drama was well made, and I liked the cinematography as well. It was a cute plot, with lots of happy and sad scenes. I give this drama a 4.5 out of 5 stars. That's it for now.

One of my favourite drama scenes...

Hey Everyone!

So, just on a break from studying, so I thought I would post up one of my favourite drama moments of all time. My favourite drama is My Girl, and I as I mentioned in my previous post, I am re-watching it from time to time. I just watched my favourite scene. It is the ending of episode 8, when Yoo Rin tells Gong Chan that if he closes his eyes and counts to 5, when he opens his eyes, the woman he loves will appear before him. In that scene, he was trying to find YR, and so tried closing his eyes, when he opened his eyes, the whole park brightened up with lights and he saw her through a pillar in his field of vision right away. I still get butterflies from that scene. Be sure to check it out here (start at 13 mins): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tkqr06NFAGo. Enjoy! That's it for now.

New journey...

Hey Everyone!

So, it has been a while since I last posted! I am actually stuck on an island. Haha... however, it is partially true. I just wanted to update everyone about how I am doing. I am indeed stuck on an island, but by choice. I am in the caribbean for medical school, and have been really busy studying! I have not watched a single drama (other than re-runs of My Girl) for 2 whole months!! I am going to OD on them in 1 month when I go home! I hope everyone has been well otherwise. I am doing fine. I have made a few new friends. I have also started to enjoy my time here on the island. Initially, I was REALLY homesick, to the point that I needed my parents to find me friends (haha). But now, things are picking up - I am doing well in school and I have made some new friends. I have also moved into my permanent place (way better than my studio style dorm room). I hope to update you all again soon. Off to studying again! That`s it for now.

Operation Proposal

Hi Everyone!

So, recently I finished another drama called Operation Proposal. It was a remake of the Japanese drama, Proposal Daisakusen. I have watched the Japanese version as well, but the Korean version was not necessarily completely the same (just like how Hana Yori Dango and Boys Before Flowers were quite different). The drama mainly revolved around the strong friendship between Kang Baek Ho and Ham Yi Seul. The had been friends for almost 20 years, when YS was finally getting married to their old coach, Kwon Jin Won. After the wedding ceremony was finished, BH began to realize how much regret he had. He realized just how much he always loved YS, and broke down after he found a love letter she had written for him in middle school. At that point, the "conductor" arrived to grant him the wish to return to the past to change it. After that incidence, BH started his journeys to the past to win YS's heart. The rest of the drama involved BH learning more about himself, as well as just how much he loved YS (and just how much she had done for him). It was a cute interpretation of the original drama. I liked the twist on who the "conductor" was and the strong friendship between the 5 friends. I have to admit, I did cry a lot during this drama because there were so many misunderstandings between the two main characters. I liked this drama, but not as much as 9 end 2 outs (another very similar story, in terms of childhood friends finally becoming lovers). I am not a big fan of fantasy dramas, but this one was cute because it showed that, even if you go back to the past, it does not necessarily mean you can change the outcome of the present. I gave this drama a 4.5 out of 5 stars because it was a nice remake of Proposal Daisakusen and the characters were all very good looking!

Some comments about the drama (SPOILERS):

- first time he travelled back to the past, it was so gross to see him eating that many buns for the contest... -_-'
- first kiss was very awkward yet cute
- there were a bit too many returns to the past
- the other girl did make my blood boil a bit
- cute awkwardness when on their first date in Jejudo
- very steamy kissing after first date in hotel room
- she was always so thoughtful of him
- "conductor"... I get it! (the name)
- the father was such a good man

That's it for now.

Dream High 2

Hey Everyone!

So, as my time at home is coming closer to an end, I am trying to finish more dramas that I wish to watch before my departure. So, today, I just finished Dream High 2. I admit that the drama was not as good as the first season, but it was good in its own way. The drama mainly revolved around a girl named Shin Hye Sung, who wanted to make it big as a singer, yet she could not sing! Throughout the drama, HS learned more and more about herself, especially that not all dreams come true - need to be realistic sometimes. There were a few other characters that were hi-lited in the drama from Kirin High. One of the students was Jin Yoo Jin. He loved rock and was a free spirit, however throughout the drama, he had to face many struggles to figure out what he really wanted in life. Then, there was the idol groups; mainly JB and Rian. The two originally liked each other, but due to a certain incidence, the two broke up. Meanwhile, the two had their own groups that recently disbanded and ended up in Kirin High. The main purpose of bringing the idol groups to Kirin High was to start a new competition to find the "Super Idol". Initially, HS and Rian did not like each other, and that just escalated more and more throughout their time at Kirin High. It did not help with constant competition musically as well as in love. Of course another rivalry was between JB and YJ, which started long before idol days and Kirin High days. Majority of the drama involved these characters growing and realizing their dreams. Many critics have claimed that this drama was a poorly made JYP production, however, I did like it, mainly for the character developments and the musical performances. I gave this drama a 4 out of 5 stars because, though the plot was not great, it was realistic since not everyone achieves their dreams, and everyone needs to realize reality sometimes. I also love music related dramas, so that aided in my decision to give this drama such a high rating. I would definitely recommend this drama to all music fanatics.

Some comments about the drama (SPOILERS):

- hilarious: "i love you", fire scene, JYP's facial expressions, "hibernating"
- loved the performances at each stage of the competition
- B song was really catchy
- Rian + YJ combo was really good in terms of harmony
- Grease song!
- HS leaving scene was really good...
- last episode was not that great...

That's it for now.

A Thousand Kisses

Hey Everyone!

Wow, time is passing by so quickly! It is already April, and I am leaving for medical school soon! I have a bit of mixed emotions about it. On the one hand, I am nervous and sad, but on the other hand, I am excited for a new experience. Either ways, I have been busy, but I tried to keep up with my current drama, A Thousand Kisses. It was a really cute family drama about two main couples. The main couple was Woo Joo Young and Jang Woo Bin. Initially, the two met through destiny a few times. At first, JY was married, but was cheated on (for the 3rd time) and finally got a divorce. Whereas, WB was a young, ex-soccer player. The two met by coincidence many times, and eventually, they realized their mutual feelings for each other. However, due to the age gap and the fact that she is divorced and had a kid, JY tried to push WB away. But, their bond kept growing more and more. In the meantime, JY's sister, Woo Joo Mi, fell in love with WB's cousin, Jang Woo Jin. But their relationship had a twist as well, because WJ's step-mother, was JM's biological mother. Neither side knew until it was too late, and eventually they gave permission for the two to get married. But of course, there were many obstacles in both couple's paths to happiness. The rest of the drama unfolds all of the secrets that JM and JY's mother had. It also showed that sometimes there just is someone you love so much, that it is hard to move on. Not only that, but the older couple was very cute as well. It was a great drama because it did not just revolve around love stories, but really showed character development and growth between each character. There were definitely many tears and laughter for this drama. So, I gave it a 4.5 out of 5 stars. I did not give it full marks because it did get a little slow in the last couple of episodes that led into the finale. I would definitely recommend this drama to anyone that has a bit more time. It is a 50 episode drama afterall. I hope you all enjoyed this review, and I would love to hear from others that watched it as well!

Here are some comments from the drama (SPOILERS):

- Yang Joon Hee was amusing but Park Tae Kyung was irritating...
- so sweet when Jang Byung Do gave the ring to his wife!
- the resort scene was so cute! the "snow"...
- WB's ex was too irritating, but pitied her near the end...
- WJ learning to sing for JM was very cute
- such a touching moment when WB realized his feelings at the hospital
- the radio proposal ^-^
- such amusing kissing moments between WJ and JM
- WJ's 'youthful' outfit was hilarious
- loved WJ and JM's first kiss ... finally some guts!
- the shoes as present was cute... with handcuffs haha awesome... "guilty one who stole my heart"
- wedding night was hilarious
- WJ's father may be stern but he is so sweet
- fireworks ^-^
- symmetry in tears during break up... weird... =(
- rings... ='(
- too much stubborness from BD when he found out the truth...
- HB's guy was very amusing
- end scene was cute... =)

That's it for now.

The Musical

Hey Everyone!

So, I finished another drama today called The Musical. It was an okay drama, mainly about performing arts and musicals. The majority of the drama revolved around Go Eun Bi. She was a medical student, however was in love with musicals. One day, she met her favorite composer by coincidence, Hong Jae Yi. That night, JY told EB that she should give up on musicals as a career, but that provoked her even more. She then gave up medicine and decided to pursue a career in musicals. She struggled for 1 year, and then finally got a few chances, but missed the opportunities for various reasons. Then, she coincidentally met with JY again, and he started falling in love with EB and her voice. The two worked together, and he composed a song for her. This then led to attempting to perform the song on stage as part of a full-fledged musical. The rest of the drama revolved around EB trying to become a better singer and performer, as well as learning new lessons in life, like love. She met many other people on her journey to the stage, such as her favourite musical actress, Bae Kang Hee, as well as a financial worker, Yoo Jin. Overall, I found this drama to be okay. I mainly liked it for its musical contents. Otherwise, this drama moved a bit too quickly, and ended a bit oddly as well. I give this drama a 3.5 out of 5 stars because it was lacking in many ways.

Some comments about the drama (SPOILERS):

- JY fell for EB too quickly yet never really understood her
- KH was way too calculating/manipulative
- KH made my blood boil... arghhh...
- money is scary... wow... 10% left... *sigh*
- weird ending...

That's it for now.

Smile, Dong Hae

Hey Everyone!

It has been a while! I finally finished a daily drama called Smile, Dong Hae. It took me forever, but I finally finished it! It was a pretty good drama for its length. The main plot revolved around Dong Hae, who had returned to Korea to get engaged to his girlfriend Sae Wa. However, in the meantime, Kim Do Jin was already trying to hook up with SW. Initially, SW dismissed the advances, but eventually gave in because DJ was the heir to a hotel and the "only" son of her current boss in the broadcasting station. SW was a very ambitious person, and so, she left DH the day he proposed to her. Not only that, but later, when SW was about to get hit by a car, DH went in the way and saved her life. This cost DH his speed skating career. But, even after that, she still turned him down. Meanwhile, DH was realizing that Korea keeps disappointing him. DH's mother, Anna (mentally disabled), was adopted by American parents, and so she was abandoned by Korea since her parents passed away (or so they thought). Also, DH's father left Anna before realizing DH's existence. Anna waited for "KJ", DH's father, for 27 years. At first, the audience was not sure who "KJ" was - either Lee Kang Jae (SW's in-law through her sister) or Kim Jun (DJ's father). Initially DH thought it was Lee Kang Jae, but in reality it was Kim Jun, which caused even more chaos. In the meantime, SW's friend, Lee Bongi (also Lee Kang Jae's daughter), fell in love with DH. DH gradually fell for BG as well. However, there were many struggles that DH faced after getting involved in SW's life. SW caused a lot of trouble as she continued to lie to her in-laws and husband. However, everything did come to light eventually, but DH had many obstacles in his path before finding out who his father was and who his grandparents were. In the process, many people got hurt, including KJ's wife and other son, DJ. Majority of the drama involved the theme of "the truth will always come out". The truth was definitely hard to accept, but it did come out everytime. It was a very good drama because the characters developed well and grew stronger. I especially liked Anna's character because the actress did a good job in portraying her character. I give this drama a 4.5 out of 5 stars because there were a few unanswered questions near the end. If you like watching dramas with a "happy ending", then this is for you, however there will be a lot of irritation with the "bad guy" in the process. The plot was also a bit predictable, but it was interesting to see how it all panned out. If you have lots of time, or want something to watch everyday, this drama is for you. Let me know if any of you watched this drama and what your opinions are/were on it.

Some comments in regards to the drama (SPOILERS):

- Wow did SW make my blood boil! She was such a liar! Why not just tell DH that she is seeing someone else? (but she did not actually cheat on DH)
- DJ's dad was so rude to his wife
- Predictable who father was
- All SW had to do was leave DH alone
- The guilty always feel nervous/paranoid
- So cute to kiss under the snow/under lighted trees
- Anna should have just told DH about his father; I feel the worst for DJ
- SW was the cause of all evil... *sigh*
- It's funny to see that DJ's mom became a hypocrit when she realized the truth; "you have to separate personal feelings from work"
- Very confusing to know if SW actually loved DJ
- Wow SW called herself a 'victim', DJ was definitely 'blinded by love'
- KJ was so sweet to DH (should have been a bit more to DJ though)
- I felt bad for HS though... losing everything... SW on the other hand... not so much!
- The angst in DJ really came out through the actor well... when found out about DH and grandparents
- I liked that DH chose DJ's office
- hilarious: the underwear, taking DH's underwear, drinking and hitting DH, the gay guy, when PJ caught her awake on DH's back, PJ confessing with guitar, morning sickness
- pissed when: SW left DH to get arrested, SW's mom messing with the soy beans, SW showed KJ's picture, the ring (SW's mom would not take it off), SW still lying about everything even though everyone knew the truth, SW came to prevent Anna from talking about DH to KJ, keeping KJ from meeting DH, after home from hospital, DJ's mom came to force Anna to go back to the US, stealing kimchi recipe, SW keeping Anna's mom from meeting her, when not give dress back, DJ kept the key, DJ not giving up
- unanswered questions: Where did DJ come from if KJ didn't even like his wife? Did he get married and give up Anna then want her back after having DJ? ; What happened between Anna and PJ afterwards? ; How did DJ suddenly become so friendly with DH with "hyung" and all? ; How did SW still manage to have the baby after all that? (too unrealistic in my opinion... then again so is the whole plot)

Anyways, that's it for now.

Watashi Ga Renai Dekinai Riyuu

Hey Everyone!

So, I finished another drama, this time a Japanese one called Watashi Ga Renai Dekinai Riyuu. It was a really nice drama about three girls living together and learning about what love means to them and what dreams they have. Fujii Emi had a successful career as a lighting expert for theaters and concert halls, however was very inexperienced in love. Ogura Saki was unemployed but dreamt about becoming a successful writer, and did not believe in love. Finally, Hanzawa Mako was a serious type of individual, always calculating life, whether it be love or career. The three met up after many years and started living together. The rest of the drama was about each girl maturing and developing their characters. They had many struggles in love, but in the end were able to find their goals. It was a nice story about the strong bond between girls and a great slice of life drama. I would give this drama a 4 out of 5 stars because the ending was not exactly how I expected it to be. It was definitely realistic, but it was also a bit unsettling for me. Otherwise, it was a great light hearted drama for all.

Some comments about the drama (SPOILERS):

- Sad ending to episode 1, but predictable...
- Was nice that he protected his girl during black out
- Pumpkin comment even made me all flustered
- Mako's sister (the actress) always has a bad girl role
- Cop's naiveness was so cute
- Sexual tension between Emi and Yu... yikes!
- The character development for all the girls was really good
- Sad when Hikari back (predictable though)
- Loved the OST
- They're so cute! He noticed the necklace!
- ooo kiss!
- Cried: when she saw hikari confess, mugs, when Yu left
- Ending left me hanging/wished for a different ending

That's it for now.

Me Too, Flower!

Hey Everyone!

So, I just finished another drama called Me Too, Flower! It was a really nice drama after a long time, because I felt many emotions while watching it. It was a rather simple story about a policewoman, Cha Bong Sun, and a bag designer, Seo Jae Hee. The two initially met when they bumped into each other on their respective paths. They later met while JH was a parking valet and BS was investigating a situation at his work place. The two continuously encountered each other and started falling for each other. However, in the mean time, BS's step sister, Kim Dal, moved in with her, who was also starting to fall for JH after realizing he was actually rich. As well, the audience encountered Park Hwa Young, a beautiful and intelligent woman, whom JH was indebted to, since he accidentally killed her husband a few years back, leaving her child fatherless. HY started bringing lots of trouble for BS and JH since she was in love with him also. The rest of the drama showed the character development of each character and their journeys to avoid being lonely. JH and BS started to learn what love is, and how important trust is. KD learned that she was really lonely and actually wanted love more than riches. HY learned that she was obsessed and needed to seek help. I really liked the drama because the 'villian' actually made my blood boil, yet I really pitied her as well. The love between BS and JH was also really cute and different. Overall, it was a well-made drama that I would recommend to anyone seeking a drama that is filled with many emotions and good character development. I give this drama a 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Some comments about the drama (SPOILERS):

- First time seeing a female cop
- The Psychologist was really amusing
- Hottest kiss scene thusfar in a Korean drama (2nd one)
- BS was so goofy when she smiles/she looked totally crazy when she found out the truth
- HY was a really pitiful, selfish, and really skinny!
- Wow HY made my blood boil
- KD turned out to be a sweet kid
- Loved all the scarves in the drama
- Not fond of the look-alike in the end but did like the double role by Lee Ki Kwang
- Hilarious: breast vs. penis size (first time hearing this one), biting arm, sex in police station/whip, cake in face, face off, when truth comes out and boss finds out, holding her leg, her shock when he came inside, door unlocked, dad seeing them laying together, digging heels in shoe, poster/mom walking in
- Cried: 'i hate myself', spend night together, first meal, when explaining reason for break up to MR, when father came, when KD talks about why she likes him, meeting with mom, meal with dad, when deceased comes to visit in sleep

That's it for now.

Flower Boy Ramyun Shop

Hey Everyone!

So, I finally finished another drama today. It was called Flower Boy Ramyun Shop. It was mainly about a rich boy named Cha Chi Soo and an athletic girl named Yang Eun Bi. The two met by coincidence in a girl's washroom stall after CS was trying to escape his father's men. CS was known to be very flirtatious, and did the same with the naive and easy EB. Eventually, EB starts teaching at the school that CS is a student at, and realizes that not only is he 6 years younger than her, but he is also the son of a famous chaebol. She then realized she should steer clear of him to avoid any other complications. In the meantime, EB's father passed away and Choi Kang Hyuk arrived to take care of her and her father's ramyun shop. KH started falling for EB right away and even lived with her at the ramyun shop with two other boys from the school. Also, since EB was irritated with CS and hit him with a volleyball, she was fired from her job. At that point, the "flower boys" and EB re-opened the ramyun shop as the "Flower Boy Ramyun Shop". Soon, CS started falling for EB's eccentric personality. The rest of the drama follows with a lot of comedic acts and slightly dramatic scenes between the various characters. EB, CS, and KH eventually ended up in a love triangle amongst other things. I really liked this drama because of the light hearted nature of it. There was very minimal dramatic scenes, as well, there was a lot of comedy. I was very amused by the extremely dramatic scenes ending in comic relief. I give this drama a 4.5 out of 5 stars. It was definitely an entertaining drama that kept me amused. I would recommend this drama to everyone that is craving something light and fun. Let me know your thoughts!

Some comments about the drama (SPOILERS):

- KH started off very weird
- The drama reminded me of the Japanese Gokusen often
- Wow, lots of promotion for Dr. Dre Beats
- KH looked really cute during movie date... more his age... but poor him!
- Love how there is always a dramatic moment and then comic relief suddenly
- Love the black hair on CS!
- Hilarious scenes: train/poop, guy putting on face cream, when she tried to seduce the two, break raw egg on head, the skits, "new generation house", the revelation of the brothers to the house, church scene, plunger/protest
- Cried: father died/when she left home, coach with notepad at wedding, when HK leaving

That's it for now.

Man of Honor

Hey Everyone!

It has been a little while since I last posted, considering this drama was not that long (well, 24 episodes). But regardless, I have been busy preparing for medical school and working. Otherwise, in my spare time, I finally got to finish this drama, called Man of Honor. It was the first drama in a while, that I really liked a lot. It was mainly about Yoon Jae In and her struggles in life after her father dies. She was sent to an orphanage at a young age because Seo Jae Myung (her father's best friend and company partner) did not want her to claim her 50% of company shares. When JI's father died in a car accident, the driver, Kim In Bae was saved instead of JI's father, and since JM saved him, IB sent JI to the orphanage so that he could receive some money to open up a noodle shop. In the meantime, JI's mother was in a coma after getting into an accident after hearing about JI's father's accident. IB's son (Kim Young Kwang) and JM's son (Seo In Woo) both knew JI in the past through their fathers. 17 years later, YK and IW had encounters with the now 26 year old JI. Initially, YK did not recognize JI, but IW did. IW tried to protect JI from his father by trying to persuade her to stay away from GeoDae (the company run by JM). In the meantime, JI assumed YK's father was her father because IB kept sending money and letters to her during her stay at the orphanage. This made things very complicated for IB's family, because his wife and family assumed he had an affair. Due to this misunderstanding, the family disliked JI a lot and she went through more hardships to gain acceptance in that family. However, the misunderstandings continued once IB died, leaving behind many unanswered questions. Only YK and his grandmother were kind to JI during her stay with them. It was around this time that IW was realizing who JI really was (since she was his private nurse). The rest of the drama revolved around JI, IW, and YK entering the GeoDae as employees, and trying to solve all the mysteries left behind about JI. The drama was mainly about inheritances and struggles in life. There was a minor supernatural aspect to the drama, but it was nothing too extreme. I really liked this drama because it was not over dramatic, and the plot was really good. Not only that, the wit and thought-provoking jokes (e.g. monkey one), were really intriguing. I gave this drama a 4.75 out of 5 stars because it was great, but the supernatural aspect was not really necessary in my opinion. Regardless, it was one of the better dramas I have seen in a while. I would definitely recommend it to everyone. Let me know your thoughts on it.

Some comments about the drama (SPOILERS):

- I feel bad for IW... no love from father (initially), always trying to impress him yet fears him as well...
- I feel bad for In Cheol, since he got too greedy instead of appreciating his love
- many characters really had bad anger management!
- Funny scenes: when all 3 found each other at the interview, two running around and he is singing karaoke, first breakfast at IW's, his debt collector version
- IW would have been a great Domioji from HYD and PMY would have been a great female lead
- Elevator scene was so cute!
- First drama in a while that kept me at the edge of my seat for more... could not wait for the next day to watch the next ep...
- All the idioms and witty comments were interesting... plus lie joke
- Cried: when she had to leave, when begging for bb back, when he built the tent, return of the land deed, when mom and daughter meet, when he saw her kissing IW, when the culprit found, when grandma was lost, wiping JI's tears, when forgave JM

That's it for now.

I'm off,

New Heart

Hey Everyone!

So, I just finished another drama after awhile, called New Heart. It was mainly about thoracic surgeons and their struggles in their department. Indeed, in the Western world, thoracic surgeons are more popular, and the department is very difficult to get into. However, this drama showed that in Korea, it is not such a popular field because of all the losses and stress that comes from heart surgeries. The drama started with an interaction between Choi Kang Gook, a well known thoracic surgeon and Lee Eun Sung, an intern at a countryside hospital. After a heart incident with a patient, ES decided to go to Kwang Hee Hospital in Seoul to enter the thoracic department. Meanwhile, KG was requested to return to Kwang Hee since they were going to open up a new Cardiac Center soon. This was when ES and Nam Hye Suk were chosen as first year residents in the department. Initially, HS was very cold and only cared about getting the job done, but after witnessing ES's caring nature and passion towards the patients, she became a much kinder person. She also started falling for ES, but he did not want to start a relationship with a co-worker, since it may not end well and then it would become awkward since they had to remain colleagues. The rest of the drama revolved around ES and HS becoming closer, hospital politics, and various medical cases. It was an interesting drama because though there was not too much romance, the medical field interests me, so I found this to be a really good drama. It had plenty of dramatic scenes and lots of laughs as well. I would definitely recommend this drama to anyone looking for a good medical drama. I give this drama a 4.5 out of 5 stars.

A few comments about the dramas (SPOILERS):

- I really liked ES's jolly personality/optimisim
- The catheter insertion was hilarious (for the secretary of the state person)
- His first time in the hotel was hilarious
- HS cries too much!
- Not sure if they should be running around the hospital so much... hmm...
- MM was sooo annoying!
- Hospital politics is too much! *sigh*
- Hug from behind made my heart beat from a scene after a long time!
- Way she stopped talking to him to get his mind off the pantient was cute
- I love all the idol dances... Wonder Girls/Big Bang
- Aww nerve damage... luckily ambidextrous
- When KG had to go back... it was so sad
- 4th year resident and MM make an odd couple

That's it for now.
