Mischievous Kiss

Hey Everyone!

So, finished another new drama! This is my last drama of 2010, and perhaps one of my last for awhile, since I'm going to be quite busy when I get back to school. There are a few dramas I'm interested in after this, but they finish in mid-late January, so I'll wait. For now, here's the plot for Mischievous Kiss. It is a remake of the Japanase Itazura Na Kiss, however the Japanese drama was much older and the anime also came out too. I really liked this rendition, though it was the same plot as the original works. Mainly it is about a cheerful girl named Oh Ha Ni and a jerk (yet genius) guy named Baek Seung Jo. HN loves SJ for 4 years before he finally falls for her. She loves him during high school, and even though he gave back her love letter (with corrections and a grade of D-), fate somehow brought them together in SJ's house after HN's house breaks down after an earthquake. In the meantime, while HN pines after SJ and starts to move his heart, there is Bong Jong Gu, who has been in love with HN for 4 years also, but she never gave him a chance. In the end, HN and SJ go to college, and of course there are more obstacles there. Though SJ's mother always fights for HN, there were many obstacles that were in their way (like a girl in college and JG). Finally, HN and SJ do get married and have a honeymoon at Jeju Island (typical!). It was a cute drama, and showed what I expected of it. I honestly really liked JG's character in this one because of his acting. Of course SJ and HN were great too, but away from the mains, JG did a great job! I give this drama at 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Hotaru no Hikari 2

Hey Everyone!

So, I finished a new drama recently, called Hotaru no Hikari 2. It was a sequel to Hotaru no Hikari from a few years ago. I really liked that drama, so I was excited to watch this sequel to see where things went. The main plot of the first part was a 'himono onna' (girl who wears sweats at home and is lazy and messy, but at work very professionally dressed and hardworking) named Amemiya Hotaru, and how she randomly ends up living with her boss (she calls him Bucho = boss in Jap). It was a cute love story, where they became closer as they got to know eachother under one roof. However, at the end of the first season, she left for Hong Kong for 3 years. In season 2, she returns and the two get engaged. However, there are obstacles, such as the other guy (Osamu Mukai!!!) who falls for her kwirky personality and hardworking self. Though she wavers a bit, she realizes she loves her roommate more! So, in the end, they do get married, and she stays a 'himono onna' even after marriage. Again, very cute, but not as good as the first season (typical conclusion). I give season 2 a 4 out of 5 stars.

King of Baking, Kim Tak Gu

Hey Everyone!

I just finished a really good drama! I admit lately, my life has been filled with dramatic events, but honestly, this drama helped me through it. I really needed a tear jerking drama to help me get away from reality and release my own tears. I've had quite a hard time lately, but things have started to look up since I moved back home. I think being away made me homesick, and that caused me to break down a bit at the end of my work term. It was really hard for me to cry for awhile, but then with this drama being so sad, I finally released those tears that I held back all term. Of course the occurrences in my last week at work aided in real tears as well, but that's another long story. But, all I can say now, is that I am trying to get back to reality, in my own reality back home. Tomorrow is my birthday party with all my friends, and I think I'll finally feel like I'm home again! I've missed my family and friends very much, and I think that's the cure to any of my sadness. But anyways, enough about my dramatic life, back to the drama itself! This drama was called King of Baking, Kim Tak Gu. It was about an affair in a well known family, which led to the demise of Kim Tak Gu. The story revolves around the fact that there were two sons born into the family, however neither were from both the mother and father (both from affairs). Of course, the mistress's son was never welcome into the home, and so through many obstacles, TG was sent away. He lived for 12 years trying to find his mother (who was presumably dead). Finally, he found his way to a bakery, where he learned that he can use his prodigal sense of smell, to his advantage. But of course, as fate would have it, he met his brother Gu Ma Jun there. They competed many times. Even for the girls TG loved, Shin Yu Kyung. I thought all along that TG and YK would end up together, but for once they actually let the good girl get the guy and the lonely boy get the girl. What I mean by that is, that the bakery owner's granddaughter loved TG a lot, and always cared for him from the sidelines, and in the end she got him. As well, MJ, was always struggling with his parentage and all the problems a child can have, along with his ongoing rivalry, but only fell in love with YK. I was at first sad that YK and TG didn't end up together. But, now that I think about it, it was indeed for the better. But anyways, that's just a brief part of the drama. Most of it revolved around the rivalry between brothers (though not blood related) and the struggles one family has to endure to become happy. I really liked this drama (minus the tear jerking moments!). I acting by Eugene in this drama was amazing. I have never seen her in this sort of role. I was impressed! I also liked the plot and how it ended. So, as a result, I have to give this drama a 5 out of 5.

1% of Anything

Hey Everyone!

It has been awhile! I've just been really busy in the new city that I am staying for another 2 weeks. Let's just say, there is a lot of real life drama here! If I ever mentioned that I wanted to live in a drama, well I was wrong! Completely! I will explain my life drama later, but for now, I will talk about the most recent drama that I finally finished, after like 3 months (only last episode was left!)! The drama is called 1% of Anything, and is a really cute drama. I would suggest it for a light hearted romance-comedy for sure! It involves Kim Da Hyun and Lee Jae In, and how JI's grandfather forces the two to meet and eventually get married. It was a very cute story, with many side tales, including her adoptive sister. DH meets JI's grandfather by coincidence on the bus, and treats him with a lot of respect and takes care of him. DH is a very sweet girl with goodr morals. She is a teacher. JI is the manager of his grandfather's hotel. JI's grandfather was so pleased with DH, that he forces DH and JI to meet. DH does not know that the man she helped is JI's grandfather at first, and finds it strange to help JI in this venture, so they (typical) sign a contract, where if JI helps a student study abroad, then she will go out with him to please his grandfather. In the end, they obviously fall in love, and get married (with a few obstacles with her parents). In the meantime, JI's cousin, falls for DH's best friend and adoptive sister. She was adopted into the family because her step father was abusive. Finally, there is a bit of romance seen from DH's brother and JI's sister with JI's best friend. It's all a happy ending, with DH and her best friend both being pregnant. Of course, there were plenty of ups and downs, but in the end, there was a happy ending. A very cute drama for anyone interested in watching something light hearted. It just took me forever to watch the last episode (like 3 months!) because I've been a bit preoccupied in a new city.

I give this drama a 4 out of 5 stars.

Taeyang

Hey Everyone!

It's been awhile! I'm almost done my most recent drama! Can't wait to start Hotaru no Hikari 2! However, recently, I've discovered (well through a friend & co-worker), Taeyang's Wedding Dress. Very sad song, yet the English version is quite a good match for the original I have to admit. I really like the song and music video. It's like a whole drama in a music video. It also has that guy from Creating Destiny (Ryu Sang Wook). Well, it was cute, and I'm still listening to it right now. It was a nice find! Just thought I'd share. (It also helps that he's such a hotty!).

Prosecutor Princess

Hey Everyone!

So, I just (today) finished the drama Prosecutor Princess. It was quite a cute and dramatic drama. I admit, I was hesitant to watch this one because I was not sure if I'd like it. However, it definitely went past my expectations and beyond. It was definitely a worthwhile watch. It's been pretty stressful in my life lately because I moved to a new city for my co-op work, but finally I got to return home for the weekend. I'll be going back again tomorrow afternoon! I'm so miserable there, but I'll live with it and try to have fun. Anyways, this drama was about Ma Hye Ri and Seo In Woo. IW was trying to use HR from the beginning because her father had framed his father of murder 15 years ago. The story starts off without mentioning any of this, except the audience knowing that there is something odd about IW and why he keeps following HR around and helping her. Although he helped her and was always there for her, and in the process fell for her, she happened to fall for a fellow co-worker. However, in the end, she realized that she only liked her co-worker superficially, whereas IW was the one she loved, except their love was hindered due to the case that IW wanted to bring about (convicting her father of murder). It turned out that HR's father did commit the crime but it was an accident. Regardless, her father thought IW did not love his daughter since he found out that IW was using her, and told him that he'd confess if IW left HR. So he did for a year, but somehow ended up back in S. Korea. When he returned, this time it was HR that went after him like he did in the past, and finally her father gave in. That's it! It was quite a sweet story, and the couple was really cute! Their personalities really touched me and how they dealt with their problems, made me feel like this was a worthwhile watch. It was also very cute to include the other love story happening in the office. I give this drama a 4.5 out of 5 stars, only because it was a bit confusing till about half way through, and it seemed as though the guy I wanted her to be with, did not seem to be occurring. But otherwise, definitely worth a watch! That's it for now.

Smile, You

Hey Everyone!

I just finished another awesome drama called Smile, You. At first I was a little hesitant to watch it, because it was 45 episodes long, but wow, it was worth it! I admit, it does start off a bit slow, and for some reason even though on dramawiki it states the genre as romance, comedy, and family, I thought it would be dramatic as well. By no means is this a completely funny drama, as there was a lot of sadness throughout the drama (especially near the end). However, what was good about it, is that, there was no crazy drama like Shining Inheritance. Indeed, there were slight villans, but if you watch it you'll see why they were not total villans afterall (perhaps you can relate?). Anyways, this drama was mainly about how Kang Hyun Soo and Seo Jung In meet through fate due to their families; through HS's grandfather Kang Man Bok. HS and JI meet in the most unusual way, where JI has been abandoned after her wedding (in her wedding dress on the side of the street) and HS is returning from abroad, only to meet this unusual woman on his journey home! Later, we realize that MB is JI's chauffer, and so their families are bound by fate, since they end up having to live with eachother (JI's father's company went bankrupt, and MB owes the late chairman; JI's grandfather). The most amusing thing is that HS has been madly in love with JI's older sister for the past 8 years! However, she had no interest in him. However, when JI and HS start to become closer (due to many, many interactions), JI's sister realizes that she has fallen for HS. However, she is not the main obstacle in this pair's relationship, since JI's ex-husband is still after JI! There are many hilarious scenes and interactions between all the members of the family. There is so many side stories, including the fact the HS's father's first love was JI's mother! Also, JI's older brother falls for a girl that coincidentally comes to the house (3 stars hahaha). This whole show was mainly about the struggles that two families go through to find themselves. It is about MB's family, and how he changes JI's father into a human being (not a money loving machine). There is a LOT of character development in this drama! I totally loved it! I laughed histerically and shed many tears! I definitely recommend this drama, for anyone that is a sucker for family dramas with sweet romances and comedy.

I give this drama a 5 out of 5 stars!

Oh! My Lady

Hey Everyone!

So, I finally finished my final exams yesterday! Right away, guess what I did? Obviously! I started a new k-drama! I just finished watching it. It was called Oh! My Lady. It was quite good. Although it starts off a little slow, it was still good. It was about Gae Hwa and Min Woo. GH is a typical house wife, until she divorces her husband because he was cheating on her. They have a child together, named Min Ji. MW is a famous TV star, that not only acts, but sings as well. GH and MW meet coincidentally, as GH gets to be his maid for a day. Later, they continue to meet, as GH becomes an team leader at a company that produces musicals. Soon, Ye Eun arrives! YE is MW's daughter! This is what starts the whole MW and GH plot, as GH blackmails MW, by offering to take care of YE, if MW works in the next musical. The drama shows a series of events, where MW and GH must keep the secret from everyone, especially a pesky reporter on MW's chase. This is a definite romance, comedy! I personally found GH's ex to be the funniest! MW's somewhat gf, was really pretty though. I did not like her purple lipstick, but otherwise, she was really cute. There is not a lot of drama, in terms of, fighting for the guy or girl due to some love triangle, but rather, it revolves more around the main two characters. There is one other plot, which involves a breaking relationship for GH's boss. That plot was a bit more serious and dramatic, however, still it was nothing tear worthy! I don't think I cried once in this drama, but, I definitely laughed! It is a very cute drama, and I would definitely recommend it. In fact, while watching the drama, I was eating a sweet potato! It totally reminded me of My Girl! I definitely would love to buy the sweet potatoes from the street vendors, just for the experience. But, still, I enjoyed watching a k-drama, eating k-style food!

I give this drama a 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Install

Hey Everyone!

Wow, so today I killed some time watching a movie called "Install". That was... interesting. Definitely not a movie for anyone under the age of 18. It's not necessarily R-rated or anything (as in, no nudity or crude words), but the topics covered are a bit vulgar. Also, the fact that it is about relatively young kids, is a bit disturbing to me. Anyways, I'm sure you're very curious now as to what it is about! Well, basically it's about a 10 years old boy (actually not even 10 yet) and a 17 years old girl who team up and join a "cyber-sex" site. That's right, "cyber-sex" site. What's amusing/disturbing, is that, it was the 10 years old boy that introduced the site to the girl. What was more disturbing was the odd fetishes that people in the cyber-sex world have! Wow, it exposed many really odd fetishes! It was extra awkward to find out about them through a 17 years old (let alone at 10 years old). Not only did it have odd material such as that, but it also encompassed some really psychological stuff, such as suicide. It definitely left me thinking, in a very disturbed state. I am going to be as objective as I can, because this is definitely not your typical romance/comedy type of movie, nor is it completely depressive. It was all-in-all weird! But, for that genre, I have to give this movie a 4 out of 5 stars. But, personally, for those romance lovers out there, this is NOT for you! I would definitely tell you to avoid watching this movie. I had to forward a lot of filler scenes too. It was very awkward and mind-puzzling. So, from me, I give it a 2 out of 5 stars. Watch at your own risk.

Got a job offer!

Hey Everyone!

Not only did I eat my first onigiri today, but I also got a job offer today! I had the telephone interview this morning, and go the job this afternoon! This means I have to be away from home for 4 months! Now, not only is my brother going away for school, but now I'm going away for work! Not really looking forward to being away from home, but still I am looking forward to being independent for a while! Let's see how things go! That's all for now.

Hey Everyone!

I just had my first onigiri today (see image)! Next, I'm hoping to make an onigiri at home. It was kind of tangy and fishy. When I make it, I'm hoping to make it without the salmon. Can't wait! That's my Jap culinary experience for this week! Next Monday, I'm going to the Jap buffet again! =D That's it for now.

I Give My First Love to You

Hey Everyone!

So, I just finished a Japanese movie called I Give My First Love to You. It was a bittersweet story, which involves a boy and girl who fall in love at the tender age of 8. However, the boy has a heart condition that will cause him to die before he is 20 (unless he gets a heart transplant). The boy and the girl grow up together, and end up staying together till about 16 years of age. At that point, even through all their obstacles, they still stay together till the day he passes away. Lucky for them, they were able to have one last day together, and in the end, she does marry him (although a little creepy, that she marries his cremated self). It was a sweet love story, but a warning for sure is that this is a definite tear jerker! So, watch at your own caution.

I give this movie at 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Creating Destiny...

Hey Everyone!

I just finished watching a really sweet, family & romance drama called Creating Destiny. I'm not quite sure why it has such a low rating, but in my opinion, it was really good! It was about Sang Eun and Yeo Joon, who were forced to get together by their respective families. SE grew up in Australia with her father, grandfather, and little sister; Hyo Eun. Whereas, YJ grew up with his older sister Yoon Hee, parents, and grandmother. SE's mother passed away when she was young, and because SE was adopted (which we don't find out about till near the end of the drama), the family moved to Australia. Both of their fathers were very close friends, and wanted to become one big family, so they tried to force SE and YJ together in Korea. At first, SE and YJ argued like crazy! They seemed to almost hate eachother, however, somehow learned to fall in love with eachother, once they opened their hearts to one another. However, both of them were waiting for someone else (also others liked them!) so that made some complications in the plot. On the other hand, YJ's sister, YH, was abandoned when she was pregnant with her little daugher Jin Ju. However, her lover returned, and had to prove himself before he was allowed to marry YH. In the meantime however, another guy (who was with YH for the 6 years, also YJ's best friend) was in love with YH as well, yet his mother forbade him from doing so! Regardless, in the end YH ended up with her ex-lover, and they lived as a happy family. Almost everyone paired up, including YJ and SE (obviously, got married and was pregnant at the end!), YH and her ex-lover, HY and YJ's co-worker, and even the two that liked YJ and SE ended up together somehow! I felt the worst for the guy that liked YH, because he truly loved her, yet never had a chance! I wish he ended up with someone too! I feel sooo bad for him. He was so cute too (LOVED HIS TEETH!). Oh well, can't have it all! Either ways, it was a very touching story about two main families, and their struggles to deal with everyday situations. Some drama, but a lot more family drama/comedy type of situations. I thoroughly enjoyed this drama, and hope everyone watches it!

I give this drama a 5 out of 5 stars!

Re: Korean Food

Hey Everyone!

So, when I went to go pick up my brother from the airport on Monday, I went to that Korean food vendor again! This time I tried the fish sticks too. It was OKAY. But, I still love the spicy rice sticks and the red bean waffles. Now, I'm uploading the image too! It's awesome! Love it! =D

Stars Falling from the Sky

Hey Everyone!

So, I finished another drama today! I had to wait 3 days to watch the last 3 episodes, AND the last episode was only on viikii so I had to use my parents' computer! However, it was all worth it! The drama is called Stars Falling from the Sky and it was about Pal Kang and Kang Ha. Mainly, the drama starts off with us seeing PK with her unusual family of 7. Her father is a doctor, and mother is a homemaker (I think), yet they adopted 5 kids (all have names of colours in Korean, like Pal = red). Anyways, basically, PK was in love with KH (a moody and rude lawyer) for 5 years. She finally got a chance to live with him as a maid, yet unfortunately fate caused a lot of troubles for PK. Her parents died in a car accident (because PK's aunt wanted the project that he was going to give to PK's dad for herself). Basically, a lot of jealousy and selfishness caused PK's parents to die. However, before they died, they told PK's grandfather, that he has an heir alive (a cryptic message, that did not say it was PK directly). Anyways, in the meantime, PK was left to raise her 5 siblings all alone. So, she gave up her materialistic ways, and became a 'mother' character. She became a maid at KH's house, and made all three guys (KH, his younger brother, and nephew) fall in love with her. However, there was Jae Young and Joon Ha around. JY was madly in love with KH, and JH loved JY. However, after a lot of events, JH fell for PK as well, and JY blackmailed KH to marry her. In the end though, the youngest sibling fell ill, and JY finally realized that KH was marrying her only to protect his brother (from finding out that they had different mothers, yet JH already knew!). In the end, KH finally gave in to his feelings for PK, and they literally lived happily ever after. The last two episodes was a bit rushed, because there was no resolution with JY's mother (did she kill herself or not?). Otherwise, it was quite a touching story about a girl who had to go through a lot of obstacles to get to her final destination. The character development in the drama was great, because the moody and rude lawyer became softer, and the materialistic girl became motherly and selfless. It was definitely worth watching! Also, a very cute kiss in the last episode!

I give this drama a 5 out of 5 stars!

Cinderella's Sister

Hey Everyone!

So, I just finished (well last night) another drama called Cinderella's Sister. Wow, what an intense drama that was! It's basically a twist in the classic tale of "Cinderella" with a theme of revenge! I'm not really into this sort drama, but I was sucked into it because of the main character developments. The story is about two girls, one named Eun Jo and the other Hyo Sun. Of course, there was a guy named Ki Hoon that adds to the plot (main for me!). So, EJ's mother enter's HS's family as the new wife. EJ is a very dark character because of her mother's past relationships. She is very dark and pessimistic. She seemed to hate HS because of her cheerful (yet annoying!) personality. However, she lucks out and meets KH, who I suppose you could say, saves her from her darkness. He's only staying with HS's family because he has issues of his own with his family (he's the son of a mistress!). Of course, HS is madly in love with KH, yet he has a serious facination with EJ (since they are similar and can understand eachother), and only sees HS as a little sister. One day, when KH leaves for the army training, he leaves a note for EJ, however he left it with HS, who never gave it to her (some Cinderella she is!). After many years, KH does return, and EJ is very broken after that incident (since she thought that she was abandoned!). Later on, many incidents occur involving KH's family and HS's family businesses, and as a result HS's dad dies. EJ believed that she was the cause (due to a business deal), yet really it was KH (since he was overheard talking to this brother on the phone about betraying HS's dad). KH tried to get forgiveness by vowing to protect the two sisters, and attempting to let go of his feelings for EJ. However, after many obstacles, he finally got to confess to EJ, and she finally did in return (during a majority of the series, she tried to deny her feelings because of her guilt towards HS, and so decided to give up KH). In the end, HS allows the two to be together, and EJ finally admits her feelings. It is quite a cute happy ending. However, there were soooo many instances that I cried! Wow, very intense indeed! I would not recommend this drama to anyone that dislikes dramatic drama's. This was beyond dramatic! I left out quite a bit of the intense relationship between the two sisters and their relationship with their parents. I think I would suggest against this drama, unless you can emotionally handle it!

I give this drama a 4 out of 5 stars.

Exams again...

Hey Everyone!

If you've wondered why I have not been writing lately, it's because I'm avoiding dramas till my exams are over! However, there a few things coming up that I thought I should mention (although I should be studying, as I've had 1 day to study for tomorrow's exam!). Well, I'm going to Chicago on the last day of exams (June 24th). It should be fun, since we're staying over at a friend's place. I'm sure we'll enjoy our road trip! I'm also meeting my boyfriend's parents when we return. I'm meeting them July 2nd! Not too far from now. =P However, my relatives are coming over July 3rd as well, and he'll be meeting them as well! Korean Food

Hey Everyone!

This week (Monday), I went out with my boyfriend and his friends, and we went to a place where they had those Korean street vendors! It was sooo shocking! They actually sold the spicy rice cakes (ddukboki), fish shaped red-bean cakes (bungeoppang) (ahhh reminds me of Spring Waltz!), and fish cakes (eomuk-guk). Even though I was full, I just had to have some! I tried the rice cakes and red-bean cakes. They were really good and cheap too! The spicy rice cakes were sweet and spicy, which I really liked. The red-bean cakes were really cute and yummy (except I just cannot seem to like the whole bean taste). I am totally looking forward to going back and having a snack again, especially those fish cakes! I was sooo excited. My boyfriend could tell right away just how amused I was by just being there and seeing that culture in front of me. I seriously felt like I was in Korea! I just thought I'd share! =D

Personal Taste

Hey Everyone!

Wow, I finally finished a great drama, Personal Taste/Preference! This drama was sooo cute! I really liked it. It's definitely worthy to be in my top 5 for sure! Plus, Lee Min Ho is such a cutie (minus his goofy smile hehe). Anyways, this drama was about a guy named Jin Ho and a girl (should have been younger!) named Kae In. It starts off with KI realizing her boyfriend and bestfriend are getting married, the day before their wedding! Can you believe that he broke up with her the day before the wedding? They really should have said something before! Geez! Anyways, JH is facing a chaos in his firm as well, since he lost a deal, to his arch-nemesis (KI's boyfriend). At the wedding, KI realizes that her bestfriend's husband is her ex-boyfriend for the first time (confusion with relaying the message, the night before!). Anyways, JH and KI meet a few times coincidentally before the wedding, (first time was the day of the JH's presentation for the deal he lost, and on the bus he kind of accidentally grabbed her butt! she then out of revenge grabbed his! =O what a funny first encounter!). Anyways, so following that, we realize that there is a new competition to build a new gallery, and JH and KI's ex are a part of. KI's father had a tendency to use bribes, etc. to win, yet his son wanted to play fair again JH. It turned out that KI's father's original design, is the sought after design, and when JH found out, he pretended to be gay to stay at her place (the place which her father built). So, they begin to fall for eachother as they live together, yet of course KI thinks it's impossible since she thinks he's gay. In the mean time, the guy who is running the competition, falls for JH (he's gay obviously). It turns out that KI's ex and bestfriend break up (never really married after that scene at her wedding) and so KI's ex goes after KI and her ex-bestfriend goes after JH. Of course, JH likes KI, so after a lot of struggle with the truth, he finally tells KI the truth, and they have a really sweet kiss (such a cute scene)! However, there was still the truth about why he moved in, in the first place. When KI finally found out, it was the worst possible way, because his co-worker sent the original blueprints from KI's house, and the special judge to see the prints was none other than KI's father! It was really shocking. However, in the end, all the misunderstanding were solved, and finally KI and JH spent the night together! Very sweet way. In the end, they were engaged (he proposed with balloons, totally cute!). Overall, a very good drama! Well done!

I give this drama a 5 out of 5 stars.

Hey Everyone!

It's been a while since I last posted huh? It's been a little hectic lately in my house (nothing to do with my boyfriend). My brother is going to university next year, and is in the process of choosing schools, and my dad is having his own issues as well. It's a long weekend, but I'm pretty bored! My friends are busy, my boyfriend is busy, and my family is busy. I wish I had something to do. I really wanted to spend time with my friends this weekend, but I guess they have other things to do, which is fine. To be honest, I should have made arrangements sooner, but I forgot it's a long weekend, till Friday. Anyways, for the past week or so, I've been watching on and off, the drama By Land and Sky or otherwise known as High as the Sky, Wide as the Earth. It's a very good drama, but very long! It's main focus was on love and family. Key word being "family". It's mainly about three different families, and how they interlink through marriage. We see Mu Young's family who are poor, yet very close. We see Ji Su's family who are middle class, and yet happy and close. Finally we see Eun Ha's family, which are rich, yet estranged! There is a lot character development, especially for Mu Young. He is basically living with adoptive parents, because he was abondoned by his mother when he was young. For most of the first half of the show, he is seen trying to figure out how to get over his birth mother abandoning him. It really teared him up inside. At the same time, he was in love with his best friend, Ji Su, yet felt that he was not good enough for her. JS is a very loveable type, but never really saw MY as more than a friend. She falls for a really rich guy, but then decides to back off before she gets hurt by his family. In the meantime, MY returns from his trip (well he was kind of arrested, and was bailed out by his older brother). MY decides to change his life by studying hard to show his family that he is sorry and wants to change. He meets EH there, who falls in love with him. However, he is madly in love with JS. He finally confesses, and she even falls for him, but his confidence is too low, and pushes her away. In the meantime, EH falls deeper in love, yet he only sees her like a sister. In the end, finally, MY gives in to JS's love for him, and decides to be the man that she deserves. They go through more struggles as her family is not supportive at first (he's got nothing to offer, other than love!). But, they finally get married. Also, MY's birth mother returns to their lives before the marriage, and MY is asked to donate his bone marrow because he has a half-brother who is dying. It took MY a long time to realize that he has it good in life and that he should just forgive and forget the past. He agrees to donate, and of course it's a perfect match (go figures!). That is mainly the tale of JS and MY (main characters of the drama), however there are other developments, such as how close EH's family became finally. MY's older brother (SH) married into the family (Eun Ju). SH and EJ fell in love and got married (first episode). They later got a divorce (which I didn't see because I only watched JS and MY's tale on youtube). After the divorce, EJ found out she is pregnant, and they decided to get back together. EJ finally decided to be a better wife and daughter-in-law, and learned to cook and such. Through this experience, EJ and EH's family became a lot closer. Also, JS's father and MY's aunt got married before the whole JS and MY love development. Therefore, all three families were linked because EH's sister EJ married SH who is MY's brother. EH and EJ's father is close friends with JS's father. Finally, MY's aunt and JS's father got married. Therefore, all three families were linked in one way or another. Also, it turns out that MY's mother and uncle were also raised by an adoptive mother, and there mother returns (who is rich btw) and that helps their family become even closer. All this may seem really hard to grasp, but in all honesty, it was a very good drama. I just wish I had time to watch the whole show, as in every episode to its fullest, however it's just too long (165 episodes, although 30 minutes each). I enjoyed watching the development of JS and MY though. I watched that on youtube at http://www.youtube.com/user/C2yeuhs#p/u/107/kdLQYZpx7Uo. I really liked this pair, because they are just so cute! It's Han Hyuo Jo again! I just love her. Also, MY, the actor that played him, was soooo cute. His smile just kills! I wish he had more dramas. I would definitely watch them. I really liked this pair together. Today, I'll be starting another drama that I've been waiting for to finish called Personal Preference. It's Lee Min Ho (BOF) again! Look forward to that review! It's a lot shorter! Regardles, I won't take away from By Land and Sky, because I really enjoyed it. Please watch it if you have time. It's a great family drama.

I give this drama a 5 out of 5 stars.

Day in the life of B...

Hey Everyone!

So, today I went out for one of my bestfriend's birthday! My other bestfriend and I (+ another guy friend) got her a wallet from Guess! Oooo nice huh? Well, we chose it because it was ideal. We knew she did not like the long ones, yet liked the short ones, so we got one in between (with a coin purse area!). I think she really liked it! Anyways, today, I showed my two bestfriends, a day in the life of ME! We went to a Japanese *HALAL* restaurant called Hyakka! Awesome time! It's all you can eat and the food is quite good. It's a bit far from home, but I really like it. Then, we went to my favourite grocery store, and did some shopping (and "chopping" ;)... if you know what I mean... hehe... well for the bday gal anyways!). It was a fun little shopping trip, almost as if we were roomies (I wish!). Then, we went to one of my favourite samosa places, and bought some (go figures) samosas, and I bought some sweets for my dad (totally sucking up!). Anyways, it was a fun day, and I think the besties enjoyed it (let's see if they comment!). Also, I found out an interesting piece of news from the b-day girl (shhhhh secret!). I was not shocked, but within reasonable amount. I just hope she is coping well. Anyways, so that was it for our little outting. Although, it is not her birthday yet (on Wednesday), I hope she enjoyed it none-the-less! That's it for now!

Sweet 18

Hey Everyone!

It's been a while! I've been suffering from a cold lately, so I haven't had a chance to come on. Regardless, I've been trying to finish another drama. This drama was called Sweet 18. It was very cute to be honest! It reminded me of Itazura Na Kiss. Although it was an older show (2004), I still really liked it a lot. The main actress was so cute, and the guy was relatively attractive. Of course, it also had Lee Da Hae. I love her acting, and even as a villian/side actress she played a cutesy role! Anyways, the main plot of this drama is about a girl named Yoon Jung Sook who is 18 years old and she marries a guy named Kwon Hyuk Joon who is 28 years old. Mainly, they were set to be married when they were kids, but then JS had to leave with her family, and HJ continued to live with his grandfather after his parents' deaths. JS falls for HJ long at their first meeting, when he is wearing a hanbok (cultural clothing), but he remembers her more as an annoying girl. HJ is a Prosecutor, whereas JS is only a highschool graduate. They end up getting married, and so the story revolves around them living as a married couple, and learning to cope with the idea. Although JS is so young, she is able to open up HJ's heart. Although, during this time, his ex returns, but she had no chance, because HJ is very loyal (although he just didin't realize he loved JS the whole time!). Finally they become closer, and realize they love eachother, and finally after months, they have their "wedding night" together. She soon becomes pregnant (go figures!), and everyone is happy again. However, it turns out that HJ's grandfather is ill, and so they decide to return to the country-side. But, soon, they find a letter from his late grandfather (on the day of his funeral), stating, that they should do what they want. They end up returning to Seoul, and in the end they show HJ and JS with their two kids (when did this happen?) and going on their honeymoon again? I am a little iffy about the ending, may have to re-watch it, but I think JS became an assistant designer, and they somehow have two kids (twins maybe?). All-in-all, this was a good drama. I would recommend it to those that are patient with older quality shows. However, it was a good watch, and I had many laughs.

I give this drama a 4.5 out of 5 stars!

Cinderella Man

Hey Everyone!

So, I finally finished Cinderella Man. Phew! That took a long time. I'm not even sure why. It was a good drama, but it was slow at times. It was a play on Cinderella and the Prince and Pauper. The drama was a lot less dramatic, so I liked it for that reason. There was the typical drama and jealousies, but it was a lot less prevalent (unlike Shining Inheritance). Anyways, so this is how the plot goes. It is mainly about a guy named Oh Dae San (apparently named after a mountain in Korea), who is a merchant at a local wholesale place. He meets Seo Yoo Jin at her father's funeral. They become close as DS tries to help her out of her financial situation. YJ was a student in Paris for fashion design, but had to leave school due to her father's death. Anyways, on the other side, there is Lee Jun Hee, who looks just like DS. He is the blood-related grandson of Sopia (a brand). He happens to have a heart condition, and sets out to find out about his birth mother. At some point, JH and DS meet, and so JH asks DS to be him for a while (remind anyone of the Prince and Pauper?). Anyways, eventually we find out that JH and DS are twins, but it is too late since JH dies soon after his heart transplant. DS then has to act as JH so that his grandmother and stepmother and stepbrother do not find out. During this time, there are other love developments between his stepbrother and YJ and other fashionista with DS. Finally, all is revealed by his stepbrother because he does not want to lose the company and YJ to a fake JH. In the end, everyone realizes that DS was JH's twin, and everything is back to normal. The end was cute because YJ and DS finally have some calm again, and their kiss was cute. I liked the fact that YJ let DS finally go to Paris, and the way they ended it with YJ and DS finally going to Paris together; I found that to be a good ending! I would not say that I loved this drama, but I did like it. I think mainly because the main actress was not as pretty as I thought she could be (also looked really young! or maybe just because I couldn't stand her in 9 End 2 Outs). Anyways, the lead male was pretty attractive with the glasses on to be honest! Without the glasses, he was okay. Personally (I'm not sure what's up with this trend), I found the supporting actor (stepbrother) and actress (fashionista) to be better looking! They would have been better leads! I kind of wish I could see that supporting actress in a lead role for once (she's always a supporting actress). Anyways, that's all.

I give this drama a 4 out of 5 stars.

Cold!

Hey Everyone!

Is it just me, or did I actually feel hail on me today?! So, I was out with my mom, and when I went to go get the car around to pick her up, I felt hard precipitation falling on my face! I know rain, and that was definitely NOT rain! Imagine my shock at that revelation! Anyways, then when I got home, it was freezing as usual! Now it's a bit better, but wow my chest was hurting so much earlier because of the cold! I'm not even sure how I managed to get some school work done! Wow, I'm finally being studious! Good for me! I also got a chance to catch up with my friend Wylie. She went on a fun road trip with her boyfriend and friends. It sounded chaotic but fun! I can't wait till we get to go to Chicago! Anyways, I'm really tired, so that's it for now.

Calm...

Hey Everyone!

I've now realized why he's my boyfriend! Lately I've been feeling pretty down and stressed because of the home situation. But, one conversation with him, and I feel like a heavy burden is off my chest! By the way, Starbuck's has really good Fraps! But, if you're on a diet like me, don't get one! Speaking of diets, my calorie diet is going pretty well! I think for me, the best thing is, is to just eat less if I want to lose weight. Honestly, I tried exercising, yet eating whatever I wanted, but that does not work! I guess everyone has their own body type, and mine is just terrible! I'm so jealous of those girls (and guys I guess) that can eat whatever they want, and still be thin! Wow! But, at the same time, the only thing that gets me by, is knowing that their metabolism is going to be totally screwed up in the future! They will be very unhealthy people. I'm glad I'm realizing that I need to be more healthy and eat healthier foods now, because later in life, it'll be even harder to keep up with food and exercise! Either ways, back to my main point, I'm a lot calmer today than I have been all week! This week has been total chaos, starting from telling my mom, to my boy friend telling his parents, then my mom telling my dad, wow! It's a mouthful! I look forward to the day when all the chaos is over, but in the meantime, I'm glad to know that my boyfriend will be there to help me, and I'm not all alone in this matter! Phew! Well, then, back to reality... or rather for once, my reality includes my drama Cinderella Man, rather than getting away from my drama world into my reality! That's qutie amusing! Who would have thought, that my life would be so dramatic!

My heart hurts...

Hey Everyone!

So, I'll explain what's been going on in my life. So far, as I've mentioned before, my mom knows about my boyfriend. Soon after that (on Monday), he told his parents. His parents were okay with it. I'm surprised that they did not know all this time! Even my mom had some sort of idea. Anyways, they seemed okay with it, I think they trust their son's judgement. But, here's the catch, my mom told my dad on Tuesday, and he was not as pleased as the rest! First of all, he does not even want to hear anything about my boyfriend, because he is not from the same place as me. What he wants now is for me to become something for myself, and then he said I can do whatever I want. Basically, he wants me to be independent, and in case anything happens in the future, I can fall back on myself, and not have to be totally broken! I totally agree with him, in regards to holding off marriage till we've both finished our graduate programs and enter the job-world. My boyfriend has to prove to my parents that he can take care of me financially, especially since I'll probably be in school much longer than him. But, here's the "heart hurting" part. My dad was very disappointed in me. My dad was really hurt because he always believed in me. He thought that no matter what others' kids do (like relationships and such), I am different! He thought that after I graduated (next year) from undergrad, he would pick the best of the crop for me (10) and line them up for me and I'd choose whoever I wanted. I feel so bad now! My heart starts hurting whenever I think about how my dad must feel. I think I've totally betrayed him! He is in disbelief at the fact that it has been 6 years! Currently, he is indifferent to the situation, and just told us to live our lives out the way we have been. Just ordinary. He is not interested in meeting my boyfriend right now, nor is he interested in discussing this matter further. I think it will take him some time before he gets used to this idea. I suppose we prepared oursevles for this, since we do still have one year before graduation, but, I really thought after seeing the reactions of the other 3 parents, I was hopeful my dad may react the same way! But, my heart still hurts because I really feel like I've hurt my dad a lot. He had a lot of trust in me, and now I've totally changed his prospective of me. Recently, he's just been ignoring contact with me, and so I've been giving him his space, but I still feel terrible! I hope we'll go back to normal someday! I also hope, someday he'll grow to love my boyfriend as much as I do! That's all.

Heading to the Ground

Hey Everyone!

So, I just finished the drama Heading to the Ground. It wasn't as bad as I found it to be earlier this week. I'll be honest, initially, it is a little slow, but afterwards it gets a bit better. Personally, I did not like the acting that much because I found the lead actor to be a little too jolly and carefree. Also, I really don't think Go Ah Ra can act! I mean, she's okay, but definitely not as good as someone like Han Hyo Jo or Lee Da Hae! Anyways, here's the main plot. So Kang Hae Bin becomes the agent for Cha Bong Goon. BG likes HB from the start, but she sort of has a strange relationship with Jang Seung Woo, who happens to be BG's arch nemesis! When, I say arch nemesis, I really mean it this time! Wow, first SW frames BG, saying he caused a hit-and-run, yet in reality it was SW. Then, later, SW continues to torment BG (you'd think SW would feel guilty for making BG take the fall last time!). SW and HB go out for a while, but she does not feel the same about SW as she does with BG. But during all the craziness, there was a life and death situation, where someone after SW actually almost kills HB, yet BG saves her, yet gets amnesia. From there, he was sent to some strange assylum type place by accident (wrong place at the wrong time). Only SW knew where BG was, yet did not say anything to his loved ones. When finally BG gets out, SW (who is a lawyer) claims he knew, yet was just investigating the assylum for doing bad deeds (PLEASE!). Anyways, then later, SW continues to torment BG by releasing information about his previous criminal charges, almost gets him fired from his soccer team, and even tried to hurt one of BG's friends. In the meantime, SW really actually fell for HB, but always made excuses when talking to her about BG. Anyways, in the end, HB finds out the true SW, and goes after BG (well by this time, she had already broken up with SW and realized her feelings for BG, it was a matter of who she believed in that accident situation). Also, there was a few other romances along the way (like BG's best friend, who actually liked BG, yet another soccer player liked her - aww he was really cute, and so was she! what a cute couple they would make!) and a grandmother (rich old lady that was put in the assylum by her bad nephew) who stayed with them. There was plenty more drama in this drama, but that is all I can recall, or feel like repeating! I would not recommend this drama to anyone that wants something light hearted and fun. This drama was okay, but definitely not in my top 10, that's for sure! I mainly liked this drama due to the soccer (as we prepare for Fifa South Africa) and the (as the Japanese say) BISHOUNEN!!! Wow, definitely an attractive bunch! Other than that, it was an okay plot, but the acting could have been better. Personally, I liked the villain's acting better, and the supporting actors like BG's best friend and the guy that liked her. Oh well!

I give this drama a 3.5 out of 5 stars.

Stress...

Hey Everyone!

Ever felt very stressed? For some odd reason, I feel really stressed right now. It may be due to the fact that I cannot decide on a 4th course to take in the summer, or the humidity in my room, or that my mom will be telling my dad on Tuesday! I feel really anxious and antsy everytime my mom talks to my dad alone (like a few minutes ago). I can't tell whether or not she's talking about me or just something random! Talk about stressful times! I'm also trying to watch/finish this new drama called Heading to the Ground, but I really don't like it so far! The plot is all over the place, and it just is not getting anywhere. It is a bit too dramatic. I saw the ratings were pretty high, so I started this one, but I think I would have liked Cinderella Man more. Wow, just opened my window, and feeling a lot better already with the aired out room! I totally feel like a hermit, staying in my room all the time, but seriously, today is my last day of freedom, so let me enjoy it while it lasts! I've had a lot of fun all week, and next week should be fun too (minus some serious matters!). I am just waiting for some calmness in my life. Hopefully that will be soon. But, I have a feeling, it will only get worse. Anyways, should head off to sleep soon, so I better get going.

Life Altering Day...

Hey Everyone!

So, today I made a life altering, dramatic, change to my life! I told my mother about my boyfriend (of 6 years!). It was the most frightening thing of my life (second only to Tuesday, when I tell my dad!). My mom and I have a very close relationship, where we can tell eachother everything. I know I have disappointed her a bit, because I have not told her about my relationship till now, but I think she understands that I needed to mature before sharing such information with her. She is still a little iffy about our relationship, but it is our job to show her, that he is committed to me, and that we will have a happy married life in the future! My mom, as any parent, only wants what is best for her children. Inshallah, I hope that all will go as smoothly on Tuesday, with my father! Today, was like a day in the dramas for me, where I have made a drastic change to my life. I hope that all will be well from here on out.

Partner

Hey Everyone!

So, I just finished (well prior to telling my mom my news) a new drama called Partner. It was a good drama, with a lot of intense cases. What I mean by that, I'll explain in my summary. So, the drama is mainly about Eun Ho and Tae Jo as partners in a law firm. EH is new to the firm, and TJ (who is slightly younger than her) is her mentor. At first their relationship is not that great, since he is like a playboy (sort of) that does not want to share an office with a newbie. However, later through a series of cases, they become closer. One of the main cases, was the fact that EH's late husband had died due to chemical contamination of drinking water found due to a high profile client of TJ's father's firm (where he no longer works). Somehow, the two have a sort of romantic relationship in the end, however, there is no kiss! There were however, various other stories, other than just EH and TJ. In fact, TJ was madly in love with his brother's ex-girlfriend and current mistress. She did not see TJ as a man, and only loved his brother. His brother is a bit cold-hearted because as children his mother chose TJ over him when getting divorced. He has some sort of a complex! However, he loves his mistress a lot, and in the end she gives him up and has his child somewhere else (he was going to follow but he got arrested). That was a bitter end in my opinion, but I think that is the best case, since he was married and had a kid already. I really hate affairs, but it seems he was forced into marriage, but the catch is that, his wife really loved him! So complicated! Also, in the office, there was a short romance between the secretary and one of the lawyers as well. That was just more for comic relief. I liked this drama due to its comic relief and intensity in the court room. I really wish there was more romance in it, but I do like how they resolved many of the situations. It was much more realistic! Due to the realism, I found this drama to be satisfactory, otherwise, I probably would have found other faults in the drama as well. Regardless, it was a good drama, and I would suggest it to all law fans, that want to watch intense cases being solved. It was quite interesting in that sense!

I give this drama a 4 out of 5 stars.

Chicken Noodle Soup

Hey Everyone!

So, as I mentioned earlier (last day of exams?) that I would make soup for my mom because she's sick! I finally did it! Guess what? It was completely made from scratch; my own recipe! I can't believe it! It turned out amazing! I'm so shocked. My dad had some too before leaving for work, and loved it. My mom found it salty, but she's sick, so I'll let that drop. I tasted it, and it was really good! Check out the picture, it's after most of the soup was done! Thought I'd share my happiness with all of you!

Hot Tub Time Machine

Hey Everyone!

So, I just watched the lamest movie today! It was just about literally a "hot tub time machine". The 4 main characters go on a trip and somehow return to the 80's. Then, they have to do everything the same way as they did in the past, and avoid changing it, while trying to find the way back to the future. In the end, they find their way back, and it turns out someone changed the past, and so they are all somehow better off now. It was quite a poorly made movie, with some crude humour here and there. I admit, I laughed, but definitely not worth seeing at the theatre, nor even on DVD, maybe online.

I give this movie a 1.5 out of 5 stars.

Worlds Within...

Hey Everyone!

Wow, I just finished this drama called either Worlds Within or The World that They Live In. I really liked it! It's mainly about behind the scenes of drama/movie making. So here's the main plot. So it started off with Joon Young (a newbie director) dating a surgeon, and Ji Oh (director) dating his ex-girlfriend (longtime). Anyways, it turned out that JY and JO work together in the same firm. They also dated for a short period during their post-secondary education, but for some reason (still unsure why, I think he went to see his ex) they broke up. So, the story continued from that point on, where JY is dumped (for the 4th time) by her surgeon boyfriend, and all along it is quite obvious that JO still liked JY! So, when she was finally available, he asked her to date him (by the way, his ex is married, and so she lies to him and says she's pregnant with her husband's child so that JO won't be hurt by her anymore). At first JY was reluctant because of their past, but then finally she gave in. They had a strage relationship, where they bickered a LOT (like a married couple?)! But, there were a LOT of kisses in this drama. It was a bit different than most dramas. I did not start crying till the second half of the drama. I'm still not quite sure why he broke up with JY for a second time, but I think he was just at his limits, since to him, she was better off both financially and professionally, yet she looked upto him as someone who was a mentor! So, he let his pride take over, and broke up with her. Another guy who was an assistant director, also liked JY, but that was short-lived since his mentor JO still liked her. Also, poor JO had Glaucoma, where his vision was blurred (imagine that as a director!). Finally, when the news got out, JO gave in to JY again, realizing his insecurities were silly. This was only the main characters' story. However, there were several other characters that were shown with their own tales. For example, there was Yoon Young (actress) who was dating the chief director for JY and JO's firm. They had their own strange history, where they could not be together due to circumstances for years, and this time, they were finally together again after such a long time. Also, there's the rival director (of JO's - yet JO still admires him on the inside) that was in love with the newbie actress in his drama, but could not be with her because his father is a politician, and he cannot be seen in the public so much (such affairs and such). His father lied to him, and gave him an ultimatum, which made him break up with the actress. But, in the end, he found out that his father betrayed him (didn't keep his end of the deal), and so he and the actress got back together again. But, honestly, it seems like there were so many love stories going on, but the drama did a good job portraying the different aspects of, drama behind the scenes and very complex lives. A quote was, "live your life like a drama". I really liked that phrase, since my blog is called "Drama and Life". I cannot say that I want to live life like a drama, however, life is quite dramatic sometimes! My boyfriend says that dramas are exaggerated versions of real life. But, honestly, such things can happen! Yes, since it is within about 16 episodes, it seems like their lives are so complex, but it is only a PART of their life! It does not mean the rest of their lives are going to be complicated! Even my life has had its ups and downs, and it will continue this way. I've had plenty of dramatic experiences, but it was only short periods of my life. So, basically what I'm trying to say is that, 'we all live life like a drama'. So, I hope that you enjoyed my synopsis and side notes! This is not a bad drama to watch. It does drag a bit (perhaps because not dramatic enough?), but definitely worth a watch. In fact, after this drama, Hyun Bin (JO) and Song Hye Kyo (JY) actually went out for a little while! I honestly think, they had awesome chemistry during the drama, and they really looked cute together! Oh wow, Hyun Bin has the cutest dimples! I love it! I'm a sucker for his dimples! No doubt! Very cute! Okay, I'll stop now! Try and watch this one if you have some time!

I give this drama a 4.5 out of 5 stars.

How to Train Your Dragon

Hey Everyone,

Today I watched another movie! Wow, definitely making up for my lack of English movies! I actually watched this in IMAX 3D today. Honestly, it is a totally cute movie, and worth a watch, but I would not say it is worth going to watch in "IMAX" 3D. Regular 3D would have been fine. The story just revolves around a guy who does not fit into the "viking" way of killing dragons. He ends up befriending a dragon, and helping it fly again. Finally, he convinces the vikings that dragons are safe creatures, and that they should work together, and not against each other. Overall, a cute animated movie as usual. I loved the dragon. VERY cute! =).

I give this movie a 3.5 out of 5 stars.

Sisterhood of Secrets

Hey Everyone!

Have you ever noticed that, us, girls can’t seem to become close without sharing our deepest secrets? I just realized this myself, last night. I was watching “The World that They Live In” (I will summarize when I finish this drama) last night, and there was a scene where a couple of women were sitting together, and one of them had to go through a sort of "initiation" where she had to spill some of her secrets, to fit in. She then asked, if that is what women do to become close. They ALL replied, "yes". I found that quite amusing at the time, however now that I’m thinking about it again, I realize that it is true! Most of my closest girl friends know my deep dark secrets (maybe not all, but most!). It is so funny! Why do we have to share such details of our lives to become closer? To be honest though, I think I sort of understand. In order to understand a person, it is better to know more about that person than less. It is a way to feel like we know each other better if we share some of our secrets. If we don’t, then we seem like we are too almighty or proud or egotistical. I for one, love hearing about my friends’ lives and sharing my own worries with them. I think it is a way to bond. So, here’s a small secret of mine, that I will share with all of you. Let’s BOND! In fact, my name means “bond”. My parents chose my name because (hilarious!) they saw someone in a Bengali Drama with that name and really liked the girl’s character! I just realized (as I was typing that sentence), no wonder I like dramas so much! Regardless, there’s a lot of pressure with a name like that. I’m supposed to be the tie/bond that keeps the family together. Sometimes I feel like that is a burden, whereas other times I think it’s great! I feel a bit more special (attention seeker right?! =P). I feel that I should play this role with my friends as well sometimes. I’m the "event planner" as my boyfriends’ friends claim. I do not mind this title at all. I think it’s nice to be able to get everyone together. I do this with my boyfriends’ friends, my friends, and even my family (if relatives visiting or just going out together). I always feel that if I can be of help to others, then I’ll be needed, and that way we can all become closer in that way. If I can be the glue that ties everyone together, I feel really happy at such a thought. So, everyone, I end this posting by saying that I hope to create many more bonds with people in my present and future. I hope you will be one of them!

The Back-up Plan

Hey Everyone!

So, today I watched The Back-up Plan. Which, was a cute movie about a girl who wants to have babies, but has serious trust issues (since her father abandoned her when her mother was ill and passed away!.. of course she has trust issues when it comes to guys!). Anyways, then the day she has sperm inseminated into her, she meets a guy (both got into the same cab; so cliched!). Anyways, so they just keep meeting by coincidence after that, and somehow end up getting together (honestly I thought the guy was trying too hard!). Finally, he found out she's pregnant, but decided to stay with her. So, throughout the movie you see comedic scenes with the girl and her trust issues, the weird "Single Mothers club" or rather cult in my opinion, and the guy and his worries about fatherhood. The cutest part about this movie, honestly, was the "lucky coin", and how she said it's lucky when it's on "heads" side up. After she turned it around, she left, and he picked it up. I found that to be the cutest. It was however, nice to see JLo return on the big screen, and she looked beautiful as ever! Damn, that woman has a great figure! Can't beat that!

Anyways, I give this movie a 3 out of 5 stars.

Other than the movie, I had a wonderful night tonight with my two best friends! Overall, an enjoyable day.

I met Lee Jung Jin today...

... in my dreams! Sorry if I excited anyone, but sadly it was only a dream! It was quite a nice dream. I'll give a briefing of my dream.

So, I was sitting at a coffee shop downtown, drinking my tea and reading a book, while waiting for my friends to arrive. When all of a sudden, Lee Jung Jin arrived (wearing a cap and sunglasses; so cliched!). All the tables were full, and I had one chair at my table free. He asked me if he could join me or if I was waiting for anyone. I just said, it's fine if he sits there, as I'm waiting for my friends. We started talking just randomly, about the nice weather here, and just simple things about ourselves. He asked me for my name, and I told him it is too difficult to pronounce, so just call me B. I asked for his, and he replied "Jin". I thought, hmm, that's interesting. For a long time, I did not realize who he was. Then, suddenly he took off his sunglasses, and I was awestruck! I told him, how he resembled an actor that I know of. He was surprised to realize that I may recognize him. But, I let it go, and said, there's no way he'd be here! So, we just left the conversation at that, and continued talking about how odd he found it that I watch K-dramas. Then, I told him about my fascination with asian dramas, and how it all began. He found it quite amusing. He also tested me on how much Korean I know. It was quite a fun conversation. Then we talked about "9 End 2 Outs". I told him how much I loved "Lee Jung Jin's" character Tae Kyung in the drama. He wanted to hear more about it. So I told him. Then, I told him about my blog, and wrote down the URL on a napkin (haha!). Soon after our discussion of the drama, my friend called me, and I had to go. I asked "Jin" for a favour; to take his picture. He asked me why. I told him, that he resembles the actor so much, that it's a wasted opportunity for me if I don't. He allowed me to take the picture. Then, after preparing to leave, I smiled down at him for our goodbye, and I said "it was nice meeting you Lee Jung Jin shi". He looked up at me in surprise, and just said "you knew?". I said that it would be too incredible if he wasn't the actor, to have such a strong resemblance, however, his secret was safe with me *wink*. However, I told him to check out my blog, as that is where I'll be writing about my day. Then, we said our farewells, and just before closing the door behind me, I faintly saw his reaction; he was smiling like he did in the drama, when he was amused by something (for example, when Jun Mo arrived at the bar for the first time, and Nan Hee was acting shy). I smiled myself, and went to meet my friends, and told them all about my adventure. So, that's my tale of meeting Lee Jung Jin. Do I wish it were true? Of course! But, the dream was a sweet dream, that I'll cherish nonetheless! Hope you enjoyed that.

Bored...

Hey Everyone,

I'm having such a hard time focusing today! It's probably because my friends just invited me out tonight (Friday night) and I cannot because I have an exam at 9 AM tomorrow! Oh, the troubles of an university student! I really wish I could go hang out with them tonight, but unfortunately, I'll probably be at home cramming the night away. This exam is worth 55% of my mark! I'm terrified of tomorrow, yet so slacking the day away! I look forward to tomorrow at 11 AM so much! When I come home, I am totally treating myself by either watching a new drama OR going out and shopping! I just know my mom has been dying to go to the grocery store, so most likely we'll go to T&T! My fave grocery store of all time! I just love the guavas they sell there, and the awesome asian stuff I can find! Oh! I bought a Hot Pot set once from there too! It's awesome! I tried it first at a friend's house, and now I'm hooked! It's so healthly and inexpensive (well not the meat =P). Anyways, I'm not feeling well, and my mom will call soon to pick her up! So...

Most Natural Kiss...

Hey Everyone,

This has been on my mind since last night! So, I just re-watched a few episodes of 9 End 2 Outs and I realized that at the end of episode 15, the kiss between Tae Kyung and Nan Hee was the most natural kiss I've ever seen in a K-Drama so far! It was so passionate. I mean, they've waited 30 years for that kiss! Sure, there was the one at the vacation, but that was just the lonliness kicking in. But, you could feel the angst of the moment, and it totally got my heart racing, waiting in anticipation for the return kiss by TK. Thinking back on it now, I realize that the "timing" was never good for the pair. I mean, first NH liked him in high school, but he didn't realize his feelings (or did he?). So, she went with Jun Mo. Then, during the army, TK fell for NH, but when he returned to visit her to tell her, she was with someone else. Then, when she finally broke things off, and he finished his service, TK fell for the singer girl (second love of his life). Finally, when the singer girl left him in misery, they went back to being friends again. Then she dated the baseball player (wow so damn young!) and that was bound to end in failure! Yet, at that time TK fell for her again. When NH finally breaks up with the baseball player, TK breaks it off with his girlfriend of the time (nothing serious anyways... geez liking one girl and dating another... that's no good!). NH and TK go on the vacation, and he finally confesses after 30 YEARS of friendship. NH freaks out a bit, but then starts to realize her feelings. When they finally decide to go out on a date, the singer girl returns! Talk about bad timing! So, when NH finally decides to take the relationship to the next level, and she turns around and sees TK behind her, her shocked look was priceless (surprised me too!). But what was more priceless, was the intensity that was coming out from both of them, after she planted one on him! I was dumbfounded myself! My heart was waiting in total anticipation, as he stared at her and you could see he was just in a total blank trying to figure out what to do, while she was standing there confused herself. Then TK kisses her back. WOW... total fireworks went off in my head too! Definitely worth a watch. Check it out at (start at 7:00 if you just want to see the main scene): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ixhTiRVu2VQ&feature=related (sorry not subbed!). After this show, I'm totally smitten for Lee Jung Jin. Anyways, moral of the story: a boy and a girl cannot be friends without some sort of romantic outbreak! =D.

I give this drama at 4.5 out of 5 stars, but this kiss, I give it a 5 out of 5 stars!

That's it for now! Anticipating my next kiss too! *squeal on the inside*

Naruto Shippuden Movie 3: Inheritors of the Will of Fire

Hey Everyone!

Wow, just finished watching this awesome anime-movie! This movie had a great plot, returns of many characters (even Gaara vs. Naruto again!), and as usual a life's lesson! Here's the plot:

Basically, a guy from the past that was friend's with Tsunade, Orochimaru, and Jiraya, named Hiraku, was weak, but wanted something that made him special. He decided on 'chimera', which was to take up blood-lines (like Sharingan) and become immortal (cliched true!). Around the time, Obito (Kakashi's friend) died, Hiraku put a puppet-curse on him. Now (in present time) he had 4/5 of the chimeras (I think) he needed, and Kakashi was the 'save the best for last' person; "the human". Kakashi, knew that he would have to be sent, so he decided to sacrifice himself for Konoha. However, as usual, Naruto's "Will of Fire" is to save his comrades first, and so he, Sakura, and Sai went out to save Kakashi. Btw, Kakashi asked Tsunade to put a curse on him too; to blow up if he used Mangekyu. Of course, Naruto went out of his way to save him! In the meantime, on their journey, they were told not to save Kakashi (by Tsunade), and Shikamaru, and pretty much everyone (all 3 teams), came to stop him. At one point, even Gaara came to battle Naruto (AWESOMENESS!) in order to stop him from reaching Kakashi. Their main point was to save Konoha, however Naruto got past them all, with his stubborness (typical Naruto)! Either ways, in the end, Naruto saves the day as usual.

There was a LOT of comic reliefs in this one! Loved it! Particularly the ending was comedic (like previous Naruto films). I would definitely recommend this movie! It has everything! Jiraya too! Awww... I miss him ='(... wish he would return for real... oh well... But regardless, many people are featured in this one. So, watch it for sure! If you need the link, try www.onepieceofbleach.com!

I give this a 5 out of 5 stars!

My Day...

Hey Everyone!

So, I'm just wasting some time before my final at 2 PM. It's almost 1 PM now. I don't feel like watching any shows or studying, so just blogging! =)... Maybe I'll watch another movie tonight. Not sure which one yet. Definitely has to be J or K for sure. Ahhh... my back is killing me! I think I'll just write my exam and come home and relax for today. LoL... I've been doing plenty of that already, but both my parents are sick, my mom came home sick today from work! I'm such a bad child, I really should help take care of them, but I'm scared to catch the cold during finals ='(. I think maybe I'll make soup for my mom if my dad hasn't bought it already. Hmmm... just a few more days (till Saturday) and then I can start my new K-Drama! Currently, I'm waiting for "Creating Destiny" to finish being subbed (37 eps!), they're only done 31. Oh, the wait is killing me. I remember starting and having to wait forever for "Real Clothes" to finish. That's why I'm just waiting for "Creating Destiny" to finish first, then download it. Also, "Personal Preference" looks really good! Can't wait till it's done. It has Lee Min Ho! He's kind of goofy looking when he smiles, but he's really cute when he's in his 'bad boy' mode. LoL, my boyfriend asked me the other day if girls really like bad boys. I just realized how much us felines like bad boys! It's just something about them, that make our hearts beat quicker. Am I right? ;)... I felt the same about Jang Geum Suk in You're Beautiful. Normally, I don't think he's all that attractive, but 'bad boy' mode, he looked quite attractive to me! Like for example, in "Baby and I", he looked good in his gang-mode LoL! So, I suppose, I may actually watch more of his shows now (like Beethoven Virus). Ahhh... the anticipation of watching another drama is killing me. Totally in withdrawal period from my dramas =(. Can't wait till these silly finals are over with, and I can start again! Well, it's almost 1 PM now, so I better get going. Enough with my venting! Enjoy! =D...

K-Movie: Baby and I

Hey Everyone!

Second time today! Awww, such a cute little movie. The baby was too adorable! Basic plot:

An 18 years old boy who is relatively rich, is quite a punk in school. So, his parents leave him alone for a while so that he can learn to be independent. However, suddenly, while out, someone (supposedly an ex) leaves a baby claiming he's his. So, the tale continues as he takes care of the child, and learns to grow up. Along the way, he meets a cute girl who likes him a lot, and is some sort of genius. She comes by and baby-sits all the time. She has like 8 other siblings! It's quite amusing. In the end, it turns out the kid was actually his friend's, but he is quite poor, and when giving up the baby for adoption, but original 'dad' decides to keep the baby. In the end, both 'dad's raise the baby. There's a cute little kiss scene at the end too! Awwwww... is all I have to say.

Jang Geum Suk looked quite cute in this one ;). The girl was hilarious! The assistant from Pasta was in it too.

I give it a 4 out of 5 stars!

J-Movie: Kanojo to no Tadashii Asobikata

Hey Everyone!

So, today, during my study break, I watched a cute little (very short!) movie called Kanojo to no Tadashii Asobikata. Not sure what it stands for, but here's the plot:

It's about a boy and a girl playing a game from childhood, where the girl is the 'princess' and the boy is the 'servant'. It's pretty clear that the girl likes the guy later in life, but he does not seem to get the hints! He just plays along with his role. Basically the rules are that when they are in school, they cannot act like they know eachother, but outside of school, they play their respective roles. If anyone finds out, then they have to stop playing. It continues till about highschool, when he realizes that he cannot force himself to go to Tokyo (she's really smart, whereas he is clueless about his future). One boy finds out about them, and confront the guy, and so they decide to stop the game. The girl however, does not want to, and claims that they need to wait for 3 people to find out before they stop. But, he says he does not want to continue in this stage of life. Finally in the end, it turns out that there was another girl that did find out, and that is probaby why she said "3 people". So, basically, they meet up once again and just hang out.

The movie has been licensed, but you can watch it at http://www.dramacrazy.net/. It's quite short and sweet, and even won an award. But, I would have preferred a better ending, with some sort of love revelation, where they kiss or something! That was a bit disappointing, but it was cute and worth it if you have an hour to spare. I was bored enough, and actually had been waiting to watch this movie for quite a while now. A bit disappointed, but oh well.

I give it a 3.5 out of 5 stars.
